Drawing is great fun and benefits your well being too!
Why do I enjoy drawing to the extent that I do? Yes, I do it well. But there's much more to it. Drawing allows me to disconnect and de-stress. It also re-energizes me and improves my focus and attention to detail. It allows me to see the world in a different way, detailed beauty in every day things..a flower, a sunset.
Studies show that drawing releases those feel good hormones (i.e. endorphins, serotonin, dopamine), it improves cognition, memory, exercises your creative right brain, along with many other health benefits. You do not have to be "an artist" to benefit. If you can't draw a straight line, no problem. This is all about the act of drawing and benefits you'll reap. You only have to draw as in: put a pencil to paper and doodle. Give it a try. Every person I've spoken with that draws for the joy of it really enjoys it. So get doodling!
